Principal

Dear Eastwood Families,

On behalf of the staff at Eastwood School, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great year.  We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning.  Our goal is for every child and family to feel welcomed, connected, and a valued member of the Eastwood learning community.

Our Mission:  Inspire, Encourage, Succeed

We strive to challenge each student to grow in his or her academic abilities and to be college-ready by building an instructional program based on Eastwood values of the 7 C's:

 Community

        Communication

Cooperation

Collaboration

Critical Thinking

Creativity

          Character

At Eastwood, our great teachers collaborate to plan engaging and meaningful learning activities.  Teachers utilize research-based best practices and analyze academic data to determine current skill levels so that personalized goals for growth can be determined and implemented.  The hallmarks of our instructional program follow:

Academic Excellence-Provide rigorous, relevant, effective, and engaging instruction, curriculum, and assessment for all students

Social Emotional Learning-Foster respect and responsibility for self, and kindness for others

Creative Problem Solving-Develop perseverance skills along with critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills

Visual and Performing Arts-Nurture creativity and provide opportunities for expression and celebration of cultures through the arts

Civic Life-Demonstrate pride and advocacy for our community

I am honored to serve as the principal of Eastwood Elementary School.  It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support their academic and social growth.
